Resumen

El trabajo aborda tres dimensiones: histórica, arqueológica y antropológica. En la primera dimensión ubicamos la conquista hispánica. En la segunda dimensión, una descripción de diferentes sitios arqueológicos del Cuzco, cuyo centro principal es la imponente ciudad preincaica de Machu Pichu (Montaña Vieja) descubierta por Hiran Binham en 1911. En la tercer dimensión,  se aborda el tema de la identidad, el ser o no ser andino a pesar de los grandes intentos por “modernizar” acorde a los términos que impone el mercado globalizado.

Abstract

This report undertakes three dimensions: historic, archaeological and anthropologic. At the first dimension the Hispanic conquest is placed. At the second dimension, a description of the different archaeological sites of Cuzco, whose main centre is the pre-Inca city of Machu Pichu (Old Mountain) discovered by Hiran Binham in 1911, is  presented. The third dimension develops the theme of the identity, being or not Andean in spite of the great attempts to “modernize” according to the terms imposed by the global  market
